Brafferton; rural bliss tucked away in Darlington’s green belt!

Set in a beautiful rural location, our village community hall offers much to make the most of any booking.

The hall has a wooden floor and high ceiling with feature beams. There is a carpeted seating area to the side with comfy seating, this leads to the kitchen via a serving hatch. We have a nice reception area and separate toilets. We have basic baby changing facilities. The kitchen is fully functional, with a fridge and cooker, but is not of catering standards (unless you’re particularly imaginative!).

There is a small car park just opposite the hall and plenty of road side parking.

We are fully licenced for the consumption of alcohol and the playing of music. We are happy for alcohol to be consumed on the premises at private functions but ask that you are considerate to the neighbours when leaving events, particularly after 11pm.

Brafferton is ideally located for quick access to the A1M and is half way between Newton Aycliffe & Darlington which makes it an ideal location for any event!

The building’s role is to provide the community with space to enjoy social and recreational activities in our quiet setting. Those who use it will enjoy uninterrupted access during their bookings.

We are happy to take both private party bookings and block bookings for commercial or leisure use. Please use the online form here to enquire about availability.

The Village Hall Association (VHA) is made up of a Chairperson, Vice chair, secretary, treasurer, committee members and trustees.

We meet once a month, on the first Tuesday, to discuss issues relating to the running and maintaining of the Village Hall. This meeting is open to the public for the first 15 minutes, from 6.30-6.45 to come along and raise issues or make suggestions.

We try our best to come up with an exciting timetable of events and successful fundraising ideas to ensure the village hall stays open for the use of the wider community.

We are a registered charity.

Membership

The VHA runs a membership scheme which is open to anyone to join. Over the coming weeks this will be available as an online form with updated benefits of joining!
